Room Darkening Roller Shades are the least expensive option to significantly darken your room. They do however, have a 1 1/2"light gap between the material and your window frame if you plan to mount them inside your window. This is the largest light gap of all room darkening window shades available, but most times it reduces enough light that you can still sleep during the day. For more light blocking, outside mount your room darkening roller shades and create an overlap of the material onto the wall to block out the most light possible.
Roller shades stack compactly at the top of your window when fully raised to give you the maximum view out your window. They are ideal for use with single or double-hung and casement windows where there is not a lot of space available to mount a window covering.
